Okay y’all. It is time to introduce you to some of the latest and greatest things going on here at SCP. I want you all to meet my incredible interns! This is my first experience with interviewing and bringing interns onto my team and it has been such a blessing to me. I interviewed so many incredible ladies that were interested in the position and maybe in the future I could even bring on more?! (Am I getting ahead of myself?!) But for now, drumroll please… I introduce you to April & Andi!!!
My heart behind this internship was to have the chance to invest into others and expand this team beyond myself. It has been me, myself, & I here at SCP for almost 3 years. Well to be fair, Harrison has honestly been my go-to/everything person/chief executive president/king of encouragement, too. But I was excited to bring some other fresh talents & perspective onto the team. And these ladies have done that and more.
I have found it to be very vulnerable growing the team beyond just myself. Letting others in so closely to my business, and really, my life, feels a tad bit scary, but so exciting, too! When I’m working by myself, no one has to know how crazy the inside of my brain is, but now, April & Andi get an inside look at what’s happening up in here! I think this is good for me. ;)
Andi has been helping me primarily with prepping blogs, Pinterest, and other marketing aspects of my business & April has been designing some fun graphics with to use for my website & social. It has been so much fun getting creative with them both!
This is a learning & growing process for all of us & I am trusting these ladies to help me refine the experience & make it more systematic & beneficial for them. I know it has been such a gift to me having them already!
Without further ado, here are my girls.
Graphic Design Intern
Hey! I’m April. I graduated from Mississippi State University this past December with a degree in Graphic Design and am now working in advertising in Knoxville, TN.
My boyfriend (Dillon) and I enjoy being outside and being active in nature, which gives me inspiration for my work. Starting in high school, I designed for local water sports companies around Virginia Beach that made me realize I could still enjoy My love for art while making a career out of it.
T-shirt design, marketing materials, illustration and branding are a few areas that I am passionate about in the design world. I also have a background in fine arts and enjoy drawing and painting in my free time. Not to mention that I also LOVE dogs! (big and small)
Hey, there! I’m Andi Sells, one of the newest interns here at Suzy Collins Photography. I am so excited and honored to work alongside Suzy and help her grow her business. Suzy is a total boss babe and I am so lucky that she chose me to be her marketing intern. I have experience marketing for my local Chick-Fil-A (aka my second job!), and for other photographers. I also own a photography business of my own (coming up on a year of business), but it is very small time and I consider it more of a hobby!
I live in a small town called Cornelia in North East Georgia, but I can’t wait to start my college journey at the University of Tennessee Knoxville this fall. I will be majoring in Business analytics with a concentration in international business. I don’t yet know what I will do with my degree, but I chose it because of its flexibility. I could use it in my own photography business or at Chick-Fil-A corporate. I truly do love my job at Chick-Fil-A and enjoy serving my community with a smile. Not only do I love my job, but I also love school… Nerd Alert! I enjoy learning new things and thinking critically.
Outside of work, photography, and school I enjoy watching crime shows (NCIS and Bones), New Girl, and Disney movies. I also love spending time with my family and friends, and I’m always up for eating Chick-Fil-A. I can’t wait for you guys to get to know a little bit more about me as I go through this internship with Suzy. I hope to make some more appearances here on the blog to share things such as “top 10 wedding songs”, “developing a timeline for your wedding day”, “engagement outfit ideas”, “how to relieve stress on your wedding day”, and maybe even “a college girls do’s and don’ts of running a business”.
