New Home Family Photo Session | Moody Presets in Action

Suzy Goes Moody

If you’re familiar with my photography, you know that my editing style is full COLOR. I’m drawn to rich colors & contrast in my imagery. However, with the release of my mobile Lightroom presets, I wanted to give a look at my moody preset in use on a recent family photo session in Chattanooga.

Editorial feel

The moody presets give this sort of lifestyle and editorial vibe. My moody preset is characterized by warmth, muted colors, creamier highlights, & a touch of grain. It felt fitting for the vibe of this family session - both for the composition & the emotion of it.

Plus, my friend Danielle that you’ll see in these photos is partial to a moodier aesthetic, in both her personal life & professional branding, so she was all in for me utilizing my moody preset on her gallery of images.

Moving Into a New Home

After a wild ride through this past year with several moves & job shifts, Danielle & Quinn wanted to commemorate their move into their new home in Chattanooga with photos. No furniture, no paint - just their family & the house right after closing. I LOVED their vision because it let this session be focused on them, the bond that they share, the new adventure beginning, the close of a chapter, the start of a new one. Plus, I think it will make futures photos in this home all the more sweet. They’ll be able to look back on this empty house just as it was and see how it grows with them in the future as they begin to make it their own.

Pets are family members

If you’ve followed me for any amount of time you’ve seen our beloved pup Meeko (our first child!). I know that the love of your furry family members runs deep. Bring them to you photo session and include them in the fun!

These are the days

I loved getting to bottle up and preserve these precious moments for Danielle & her family. Such a unique season and life event was so fun to capture. The empty rooms and blank walls were such an incredible canvas to highlight the love and joy of this family.

Press Pause

During a move is probably one of the most chaotic and busy seasons of your life, so I loved that these two chose to intentionally interrupt the whirlwind with an hour dedicated to slowing down and showing up. What a great way to be present. These photos seem to slow time down, as each photo captures a tiny moment and preserves it forever.

Moody vs. Classic?

Which look and feel do you gravitate towards? My Lightroom Presets equip you to play around and get comfortable using the 6 different presets (including this moody one!). Unsure about using Lightroom? Don’t worry - the free mobile version is totally sufficient to use these presets.

I would love to help you improve the quality of your photos AND save you precious time.
