Foothills Parkway Mountain Sunset Anniversary Photography Session

ROMANTIC MOUNTAIN SUNSET PHOTO SESSION? YES, PLEASE

When Rachel called to tell me she and her husband were coming to stay in the Smoky Mountains and wanted to invest in some a couples photo session, I was absolutely thrilled to say yes! Instead of heading to Max Patch (which you know I love), we decided to shoot a little closer to where Rachel and David were staying, so we set up at a lookout on Foothills Parkway. Can I just say beautiful things can happen with great lighting and a couple who is willing to laugh, dance, and cozy up together? Rachel and David were such a dream, and I’m so happy with how these photos turned out.

INVESTING IN DESTINATION PHOTOGRAPHY

What I love most about Rachel and David (other than the seriously dreamy look they kept giving one another) is the fact that they value getting photos together regularly. They make it a priority on every trip, to hire a photographer from that city for a couples session. I LOVE this idea!

Many of us invest in engagement and wedding photos, but once married life settles in, we get busy and look up years later to realize we haven’t had professional pictures taken in years. Rachel and David try to carve out time at least once a year to document the season of life they are in, and I think this is so important. So much of life happens after we walk down the aisle, and each season of your relationship deserves to be celebrated and documented. As a photographer, I personally commit to making yearly photos happen for my own family too!

Not sure how to book a photographer in a city you’re traveling to?

There are several ways to find a local photographer whose style you love:

  1. Search hashtags on instagram! I regularly use the hashtag #knoxvillephotographer so anyone looking for someone in the area can find me. Heading on a trip? Search the city you’re traveling to and see what you find!

  2. Ask for a recommendation. This is another beautiful thing about social media is that it connects you with people from all over. You never know who has photographer friends and recommendations in their local area.

  3. Use the good-’ole Google. Using a search engine is also a great way to find a photographer. Be sure to check reviews!

Regardless of whether or not you’re traveling anytime soon, if you’re reading this blog and thinking Wow, my spouse and I could really use some updated photos, can I encourage you to set aside time this next year to get photos taken and just savor where you are together in this season? It will be so worth it.

I’d love to work with you to capture the love you and your partner share, so if you’re interested, contact me here. Want to learn more about my couples photography? Check out this page.

And as always, I hope you enjoyed these photos. Rachel and David, thanks for capturing the magic with me!

XO,
SUZY
